Nora, (9. Jahrhundert v. Chr. gegründet), ist eine der ältesten Städte auf Sardinien. Am südlichsten Zipfel von Pula (CA) auf einer Halbinsel gelegen.
Nora wurde von den Phöniziern gegründet und wurde später auch von den Puniern und Römern genutzt. Die günstigen Bedingungen, Südwind zum An- und Ablegen der Schiffe, fruchtbarer Boden in der ebene und nahe gelegene Frischwasserquellen waren ideal für alle Siedler. Das Gebiet war im Gegensatz zum Gebiet um das heute Cagliari nicht von Sümpfen durchzogen und von der Malaria bedroht. Vermutlich waren es Vandalen, die Sardinien im 6. Jahrhundert besetzten, die zum Untergang der Stadt beigetragen haben. In der römischen Kaiserzeit war Nora ein Municipium. In seiner Blütezeit hatte Nora ca. 6.000 Einwohner, was ungefähr der heuten Einwohnerzahl Pula`s entspricht.
Die Stele von Nora ist phönizischen Ursprungs, die meisten Relikte stammen allerdings aus der Rrömerzeit, die Sardinien im Jahre 238 v. Chr. eroberten. Die abstrakten Stelen des Tophet sind denen auf Tharros sehr ähnlich.
Sehr gut erhalten ist ein Einkaufbezirk aus phönizischer Zeit, die Villa eines römischen Stadthalters sowie die Therme. Außerdem der Tempelbezirk aus phönizisch-punischer Zeit und das Wohnviertel beim römischen Theaters. Hier kann am sehr schön sehen, daß die Römer auf den Hausgrundrissn aus punischer Zeit aufbauten und teilweise Mauertechniken übernommen haben.
Die Akropolis mit langen Mauerzügen und Türmen liegt am Südostkap, bei dem spanischen Turm aus dem 17. Jahrhundert. Die Hafenanlage und Teile der Siedlung kann man per Schnorchel besichtigen, da diese im Meer versunken sind. Die von den Römern zur Versorgung der Stadt mit Frischwasser aus den nahegelegenen Bergen angelegten Aquädukt sind leider nicht mehr erhalten.
Ein Besuch lohnt sich auf alle Fälle. Sie sollten ca. 1,5-2 Stunden einplanen und am besten etwas zu trinken mitnehmen. Davor oder danach laden der wunderschöne Strand von Sant'Efisio (direkt nebenan) zum entspannen ein.

Nora , founded in 9 century BC, is one of the oldest towns in Sardinia. At the southern tip of Pula ( CA), located on a peninsula.
The favorable conditions for the south wind to don and doff the ships, fertile soil in the flat and nearby freshwater sources were ideal for all settlers. The area was in contrast to the area today Cagliari not moved to the swamps and threatened by malaria. Presumably there were vandals who Sardinia in the 6th Century occupied that have contributed to the downfall of the city. In the Roman Empire Nora was a municipium . In its heyday, Nora had about 6,000 inhabitants , which is about the Heuten population Pula ` s. The stele of Nora is of Phoenician origin , but most relics date from the time of the Romans who conquered Sardinia in 238 BC. The abstract totems of Tophet are those on Tharros very similar.
Good condition is a shopping district from Phoenician times , the villa of a Roman town holder as well as the spa. In addition, the temple area of Phoenician- Punic period and the area near the Roman theater. Here you can see the very beautiful that the Romans built up on the House floor Rissn from Punic period and have partially absorbed wall techniques.
The Acropolis with long trains wall and towers is located on the southeast , in the Spanish tower from the 17th Century. The port facility and part of the settlement can be visited by snorkel , as they are immersed in the sea. The paved by the Romans to supply the city with fresh water from the nearby mountains aqueduct are no longer obtain .
Well worth a visit in any case. You should allow about 1.5-2 hours and is best to take something to drink. Before or after the beautiful beach of Sant'Efisio ( right next door ) invite you to relax .
